City cycling 2021

STADTRADELN 2021

What is city cycling?

STADTRADELN is a competition in which the aim is to cycle as many everyday journeys as possible in a climate-friendly way for 21 days. It doesn't matter if you already cycle every day or if you rarely cycle. Every kilometre counts - especially if you would otherwise have travelled it by car.

Why should I participate?

In order to slow down climate change and protect the climate, a mobility turnaround is needed. A large part of car traffic must be shifted to cycling and public transport. Here in the district we have good conditions for cycling, especially the "new" cycling with pedelecs and e-bikes. Climate-friendly mobility is tried out in the STADTRADELN.

How can I get involved?

  • Simply click on https://www.stadtradeln.de/ register and start your own team with family, friends or colleagues or join the Open Team Lüchow-Dannenberg.
  • During the three-week STADTRADELN period, take your bike as often as possible and leave your car at home.
  • Record the cycled kilometres in the city cycling profile or track them with the app. https://www.stadtradeln.de/app. In your profile you can see how much CO2 She and her team have avoided.
  • And maybe win a great prize at the end!

What is there to win?

There are various categories - best team, best individual rider, best school class, best local politician - in which you can win valuable prizes from our sponsors.

The management...

...was in the hands of the Landeskleinbahnamt in Hanover, the later Niedersächsisches Landeseisenbahnamt, from 1 April 1932. After its closure, the Osthannoversche Eisenbahnen AG (OHE) ran the operation from 1 October 1959 to 1 April 1969. After that, the district administration had the operational management for the remaining traffic.
